48 Year Old Woman Dies After Finding Difficulty At St George’s Bay

Today, at around 1240hrs, police were informed that their assistance was needed at St George’s Bay, St Julian’s.
Police convened on site and preliminary investigations showed that two women from Kyrgyzstan, aged 48 and 23, found difficulty in the water and had to be brought ashore by people in the vicinity.
A medical team and members of the Civil Protection were called on site, with an ambulance transporting them to Mater Dei Hospital.
Later, the 48 year old woman was pronounced deceased, with the other person being in stable condition.
An inquiry has been opened and investigations are ongoing.
