47% Of Maltese 25-34 Year Olds Had Completed Tertiary Education In 2024

According to data issued by Eurostat, 46.9% of Maltese aged between 25 and 34 years olds had completed their tertiary education in 2024.

This was above the EU average of 44.1% in the same year, with the highest registered in Ireland at 65.2%

The lowest was registered in Romania at 23.2%, followed by Italy and Hungary at 31.6% and 32.3% respectively.

This year, the University of Malta welcomed more than 5,200 new students to its community.

Of these, around 2,400 will embark on undergraduate programmes, while over 2,100 will pursue postgraduate studies. The institution is also hosting 360 Erasmus+ students and 390 Visiting students registered for Micro-credentials.
