42 Tree Obstructions Cleared Overnight By CPD

It was a busy night for the Civil Protection Department as they worked tirelessly to clear 42 tree obstructions, among other emergency work.

The officials had to also undertake 23 debris clearance operations, manage 2 billboard sign incidents, 1 electrical hazard, 6 HAZMAT spillages, 6 rubbish fires and even rescue 1 person locked in a lift.

All this while also managing 3 vehicle fire incidents.

The public is still being urged to follow safety precautions and to remain indoors unless absolutely necessary.

112 calls are to be reserved for genuine emergencies to keep lines open for those in serious danger. People are also being urged to not work from heights such as rooftops, balconies, scaffoldings and to say away from coastal areas.

Anyone traveling is urged to drive with caution.
