41-Year-Old Diver Who Died Near St Paul’s Islands Identified as Redeemer Grima

The 41-year-old diver who tragically lost his life while carrying out underwater work near the St Paul’s Islands has been identified as Redeemer Grima, a resident of Rabat.
Grima was carrying out diving work in the area when the incident occurred on Sunday. Police were informed at around noon, with members of the Armed Forces of Malta bringing the diver to the Buġibba jetty.
A medical team was waiting at the jetty and immediately began assisting him. Despite efforts to save his life, Grima was sadly certified dead a short time later.
News of his death has brought sorrow to those who knew him, as well as to members of Malta’s diving community.
Duty Magistrate Dr Monica Borg Galea LL.D was informed of the incident and has appointed an inquiry to establish the circumstances surrounding Grima’s death and determine the cause of death.
Police investigations are continuing in collaboration with the Occupational Health and Safety Authority as authorities work to establish the exact circumstances of the fatal incident.
At this difficult time, thoughts are with Redeemer Grima’s family, relatives and friends as they mourn the loss of their loved one.
