40-Year-Old Belgian Arrested Over Alleged Importation Of €30,000 Worth Of Cocaine In Malta

A 40-year-old Belgian man appeared in court earlier today, accused of importing cocaine into Malta, which had been concealed in his stomach.
The man was arrested on Friday upon his arrival in Malta on a flight from Amsterdam, on suspicion of being in possession of the drugs.
After being taken to Mater Dei Hospital, tests revealed that he had swallowed 20 capsules, with a total weight of approximately 300 grams, carrying a street value of just over €30,000.
Investigations are still ongoing.
