4 Year Old Girl Injured After Car Crashes Into Pole Then Bus & Van

Yesterday evening, at around 2300hrs, police were informed that their assistance was needed in Triq il-Manikata, Mellieħa.

Police convened on site and found that a Suzuki Swift, driven by a 28 year old woman resident of Santa Venera crashed into a pole and ended up on the opposite carriage-way.

As a consequence, the Suzuki crashed into a bus driven by a 48 year old man resident of St Paul’s Bay and a Mercedes Sprinter van driven by a 33 year old man resident of St Paul’s Bay.

A medical team was called on site and gave assistance to the woman driver and a 4 year old girl who was riding passenger.

They were both taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where the girl was certified to have suffered grievous injuries, whereas the woman suffered no injuries.

Investigations ongoing.
