36 New Motor Vehicles Joined The Road Every Day Between July And Spetmebr

The number of licensed motor vehicles grew by an average of 36 per day during the third quarter of 2025, reflecting steady expansion in the country’s fleet.

According to the National statistics Office, a total of 6,143 new vehicles were registered over the period, with passenger cars making up 60% and motorcycles and similar vehicles 27.1%. Newly purchased vehicles accounted for 58.3%, while used vehicles represented 41.7%, averaging 67 new licenses daily.

By the end of September, the total number of licensed vehicles reached 454,138.

Passenger cars dominated at 73.6%, followed by commercial and agricultural vehicles at 14.3%, and motorcycles, e-bikes, PA-bikes, e-scooters, quadricycles, and ATVs at 11.5%. Buses and minibuses remained below 1% of the total fleet.

During the quarter, 6,804 vehicles were restricted, primarily because they were garaged (36.4%), scrapped (33.1%), or resold (28.3%).

In terms of fuel, petrol vehicles accounted for 58.1%, diesel 34.3%, and electric/plug-in hybrids 4.5%, all showing notable quarterly growth.
