35 People Without Valid Residence Permit Detained In Marsa

35 people were detained by police following an enforcement operation carried out in Marsa. The action formed part of a series of spontaneous patrols conducted in areas known for loitering linked to illegal employment, as well as inspections on public transport.

According to the police, those detained were found without valid Maltese residence permits, in situations suggesting they were in the country for employment purposes in breach of the Immigration Act.

The operation is part of ongoing enforcement efforts carried out throughout 2025 aimed at addressing irregular immigration and illegal employment. Authorities said these inspections are expected to intensify in the coming days and weeks.

Police were assisted during the operation by officials from the Detention Services Agency.
