35% Of Maltese Never Work Out Or Play Sport: 14% Do So Daily

According to a Eurobarometer report, 14% of Maltese said that they worked out daily, whereas 39% said they never work out.
Asking 505 Maltese respondents from a total sample of 26,421 interviews across Europe, the Maltese register a higher frequent work out rate than the EU’s 9%.
Maltese women were more likely to not work out for sport related reasons at 39%, compared to 33% of men.
Meanwhile, 22% of Maltese engage in physical activities for non-sport related reasons, such as cycling, walking, recreation or other reasons such as gardening.
26% of Maltese never do so for non-sport related reasons.
The majority of Maltese (44%) engage in exercise to improve or maintain physical health in general, followed by 40% who do so for relax.
On the other hand, 56% of Maltese do not work out more due to not having time due to work, studies, family and other reasons. 18% do not work out due to lack of motivation or are not interested.
