33 Year Old Man At Risk Of Dying After Falling Mosta Building Lift Shaft

Yesterday, an Emergency Department team comprised of pre-hospital physicians and nurses, along with ambulance responders, assisted a patient following a fall from a height in Mosta.

The team provided immediate care at the scene before the patient was transferred to hospital.

A police report revealed that the man was a 33 year old from Bangladesh who lives in Ħamrun, and had fallen in the lift shaft of the building.

Upon arrival at Mater Dei Hospital, the patient was further assisted by the in-hospital Trauma Team, ‘ensuring continuity of specialised care from the incident location through to the hospital.’

He was certified to have suffered serious injuries. Investigations are ongoing by police as well as the Health and Safety on the Workplace Authority.
