32.2% Of Maltese Say Politics Very Important In Their Lives: 26.6% Say Not At All

According to the State of the Nation survey, 32.2% of Maltese said that politics is very important to their life, as opposed to 26.6% who said that it’s not important at all.

40.5% said politics is sort of important (‘insomma’), with the 56 to 65 year old cohort the most likely to finding politics to be very important in their life at 49.7%.

Only 21.3% of 16 to 25 year olds said politics is very important in their life, followed by 24% of 26 to 35 year olds. 26.9% of tertiary level educated persons said they think politics is very important in their life.

Meanwhile, 33.9% said that they consider the opinion of the political party they support when forming their own opinions on subjects. 37.5% said they don’t, whereas 28.7% said they don’t always consider it.

Once again, the 56 to 65 year old cohort were most likely to consider the political party they support’s opinion on a topic at 45.9%.

This study consists of a sample of 1,064 people aged 16 and over. The sample was collected between the third week of June and the second week of July of this year.
