A new social housing project in Qrendi will see the construction of 28 apartments and 14 parking spaces, with an investment of approximately €7.6 million.

Minister for Housing and Lands Owen Bonnici visited the ongoing works, which form part of efforts to expand social housing and provide more families with secure and stable homes.

“Social housing is about people and their families. It is about giving more people the chance to have a place of their own where they can live with dignity, peace of mind and greater certainty for the future. Through this project in Qrendi, we are continuing to invest in housing that responds to people's needs and can make a real difference in their lives,” Bonnici said.

The apartments will include one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units to cater for households with different needs.

The project forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen social housing provision in Malta and support people who need it most.

Also present during the visit were Permanent Secretary Ramon Deguara, Malita CEO Marlene Attard, Housing Authority CEO Matthew Zerafa, Qrendi Mayor David Schembri and members of the Qrendi Local Council.
