26 And 18 Year Old Workers Grievously Injured After Falling In Shaft While Working

Yesterday, at around 1430hrs, police were informed that their assistance was needed in an apartment block in Triq l-Aħmar, Wied il-Għajn.
Police convened on site immediately and found that two Syrian men, aged 26 and 18, were working in a shaft and fell.
Civil Protection Malta members were called on site, along with a medical team, and assisted the victims. They were taken to Mater Dei Hospital and were confirmed to have suffered grievous injuries.
Investigations are ongoing, with the Authority for Health and Safety on the Workplace assisting.
