25 People Arrested in Operation Against Illegal Immigration

The Immigration Police have arrested 25 individuals found to be residing in Malta illegally, following a series of coordinated inspections across various locations.
In addition to these arrests, a Maltese national was also detained and is expected to be charged in court with offences related to facilitating irregular immigration.

The inspections were carried out in several areas, including on public transport, in a private residence, in Paceville, and during a traffic control operation in Marsa. All individuals arrested are currently being held in a detention centre, pending deportation.

During the traffic control operation in Marsa, held early on Monday morning, 52 vehicles were stopped. A number of fines and citations were issued, including for overloaded vehicles and passengers not wearing seat belts. One vehicle was also towed away after it was found to be operating without a valid licence or insurance policy.

The operation was conducted with the participation of JobsPlus, Identità, the Detention Services Agency, and Transport Malta.
