2,422 Drivers Caught Over-Speeding On Coast Road

Minister Byron Camilleri revealed that, between May and September 2025, a total of 2,422 drivers were caught over speeding along Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq’s Coast Road.
This forms part of an overall effort to tackle road accidents, with road inspections increasing in recent days.
In the past few days, a total of 24 vehicles were caught over-speeding by police in localities like Ħaż-Żebbuġ, Ħal-Qormi, St Paul’s Bay, Ħal Luqa, Raħal Ġdid, Birżebbuġa, Żejtun, Imsida, Ħamrun and Ħal Kirkop.
Another 20 drivers were caught driving without a license whereas 4 were caught driving while intoxicated with alcohol.
