In a parliamentary question, MP Graziella Attard Previ asked Michael Falzon, Minister for Social Policy and Children’s Rights, how many people required accommodation in domestic violence shelters in 2024 and 2025.
Figures tabled in Parliament show that between January and June 2025, 240 people stayed in a domestic violence shelter.
In comparison, a total of 355 people stayed in such shelters throughout the whole of 2024.
