21-Year-Old Sentenced to Two Years for Dangerous Driving in Ħal Tarxien

The Court, presided over by Magistrate Monica Vella, has sentenced 21-year-old Stoyan Gafà to two years in prison after he admitted to driving recklessly and without insurance, causing a traffic accident on Triq tal-Barrani in Ħal Tarxien.
During the court proceedings, it emerged that two Transport Malta officers were injured in the incident, with one being certified as sustaining serious injuries.
Separately, Gafà is also facing charges related to an incident in December of last year, in which he is accused of causing the death of 31-year-old Colombian national Angie Marlen Mesa Gonzalez.
The prosecution in the case was led by Inspectors Clive Abela and Nathan Bugeja, while Gafà was represented by legal aid lawyer Nadia Fiott.
This sentence highlights the serious consequences of negligent driving and the ongoing investigations into other alleged incidents involving the accused.
