21 Year Old Driver Caught Speeding With Illegal Siren In Vehicle

Yesterday, during an inspection in Rabat, police noticed a a vehicle being driven with excessive velocity.

The vehicle was followed by police, with the driver continuing to drive over 160km/hr and ignored various road rules and being a danger to himself and others.

The vehicle was eventually stopped in Siġġiewi, where the driver, a 21 year old, was identified.

During an inspection, apart from other irregularities, police found an emergency siren installed into the vehicle. The driver was informed that charges will be pressed against him and the vehicle was confiscated by police.

During other patrols in the Ta’ Qali and Rabat area, other vehicles were stopped for dangerous driving.

Two drivers, a 25 year old and a 26 year old, were performing dangerous manoeuvres with their cars in the Ta’ Qali public parking. They were both stopped and charges were pressed against them.

The police remind everyone that speeding does not only break the law but also places lives at risk.
