2 Arrested As Heroin Found Hidden In Wall During Raid

Two persons were arrested for the alleged trafficking of around 100 grams of suspected heroin with a value of over €13,000.

In the past few days, police conducted surveillance on a 49 year old man resident of Ħal Għaxaq, who was allegedly involved in drug trafficking.

The man had been noticed going to a Ħal Farruġ zone, where yesterday morning he was stopped by police whilst driving a Range Rover.

A block of suspected heroin was found on his person, with a search in a wall in the vicinity yielded two more blocks.

Searches continued in the man’s Ħal Għaxaq and in the residence of a 29 year old woman resident of Ħal Tarxien.

More items related to drug trafficking were found in these residences, along with mobile phones and cash. An inquiry has been opened and the man is expected to be taken to court today.
