2,400+ Non-EU Citizens Fleeing Ukraine Had Temporary Protection In Malta By November 2025

According to Eurostat data, as of November 2025, a total of 2,460 non-EU citizens who fled Ukraine had temporary protection status in Malta.
This was one of the lowest in the EU, with the latter having a total of 4.3 million Ukrainians receiving temporary protection.
Germany hosted the highest number of beneficiaries of temporary protection with a total of 1,241,000 people (28.7% of the EU total).
Poland and Czechia followed with over 968,000 and 392,000 respectively, or 22.4% and 9.1%.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24th 2022, and is still ongoing.
