Matthew Camilleri, an 18-year-old student, undertook an extraordinary challenge to support mental health awareness by walking 50 kilometres from Birżebbuġa to Għarb in aid of the Richmond Foundation.

On 13th June, despite the intense heat of the Maltese summer, Matthew completed the remarkable journey in just over 16 hours, demonstrating determination and resilience for a worthy cause.

His inspiring initiative successfully raised more than €2,000, with all proceeds going towards the Richmond Foundation's work in supporting mental health services and raising awareness about the importance of mental wellbeing.

Matthew's achievement serves as a powerful reminder of how individual commitment can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

The Minister for Youths, Wellbeing and the Implementation of the Electoral Programme, Omar Farrugia, praised this initiative and called for more of these initiatives to continue to raise awareness on mental health.
