175,000 Litres Of Water Used To Extinguish Gżira Structure Fire

Civil Protection Malta have issued an update regarding the structure fire which broke out in Gżira yesterday at approximately 2:30pm.
The extinguishing operation finally concluded this morning at 9:00am, “following more than 18 hours of continuous work.”
CPD shared that 175,000 litres of water, along with 10,000 litres of firefighting foam were used in the operation.
55 firefighters were deployed, along with 15 fire appliances mobilised, leading the over 18 hours of work.
Thankfully the fire was successfully extinguished with no reported injuries.
CPD thanked Mater Dei hospital and the Malta Police Force for their assistance in this operation.
