17 Syrian Nationals Found Living Illegally In Wied Il-Għajn

Police officers, along with officials from the Detention Services Agency, carried out a series of inspections in Wied il-Għajn.
During the inspections, 17 persons of Syrian nationality were found to be residing in Malta irregularly.
The persons were taken to a detention centre so the administrative processes of repatriation to their country of origin or a country they could legally reside in could be started.
This comes as part of the work by respective authorities to mitigate irregular immigration, work rule abuses and abuse of such persons, the police stated.
