16 Of 100 New Residential Roads Promised For Gozo Completed In 3 Years

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri announced that 16 of the 100 new residential roads promised for Gozo have now been completed within the three-year period.
He made the announcement during a visit to Triq il-Wardija in Qala, one of the roads that has recently been completed and surfaced in recent days.
At Triq il-Wardija, all drainage services were replaced and the road was resurfaced. Surfacing works were also completed on Triq il-Ġidi in Xewkija and part of Triq it-Tempju tal-Imramma in Ta' Sannat.
Minister Camilleri said: “We have continued with our infrastructure works without interruption in order to deliver on the commitment made in the last Budget, namely the completion of 100 new residential roads in Gozo over a three-year period. Today we are in Triq il-Wardija, Qala, which was completed during the same period as works on Triq il-Ġidi in Xewkija and Triq it-Tempju tal-Imramma in Ta' Sannat. More than 2,700 square metres of asphalt were laid across these three roads. We remain committed to maintaining this pace of work so that we can fulfil this promise.”
He recalled that, before work began on the 100-road project, discussions were held with several Local Councils, which were asked to identify the roads most in need of upgrading.
Minister Camilleri added that the aim of the project is not only to provide better infrastructure and services to residential areas in Gozo, but also to improve road surfaces for the benefit of both residents and visitors.
