On Wednesday 27 August, the first day of early voting in the election for the new Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista saw a turnout of around 15 per cent of eligible members.

With approximately 20,600 members entitled to vote, polling took place at Dar Ċentrali in Malta between 4pm and 9pm, and at the PN Sub-Headquarters in Ta’ Sannat, Gozo, between 4pm and 8pm.

Proceedings began after the President of the PN General Council, Mark Anthony Sammut, formally opened the General Convention of members, in line with the Party Statute.

The PN Electoral, Records and Data Commission has reminded members that early voting will continue on Saturday 30 August, with the final session scheduled for Saturday 6 September, the official election day.

On 30 August, voting will be held at Dar Ċentrali in Malta from 9am to 7pm, and at the PN Sub-Headquarters in Ta’ Sannat from 9am to 5pm.

On election day itself, polling stations will be open at PN Headquarters and PN Clubs in Safi, Tarxien and Mġarr, as well as in Gozo.

The leadership contest is of course between Alex Borg and Adrian Delia, following their successful nominations and verification by the PN Candidates Commission.
