15% Of Maltese Employees Working Over 45 Hour Weeks

According to a new survey by Eurostat, approximately 15% of Maltese employees are working over 40 hours a week in Q2 of 2025.

49.9% employees work 40 to 44 hours per week, along with 6.1% who work up to 49 hours, and a final 8.5% who work over 50 hours every week.This puts Malta as the third highest country in Europe of employees working over 45 hour weeks, behind Greece and Cyprus.

Additionally, 4.2% of Maltese people work no hours weekly, 4.1% work up to 19 hours, 8.9% work just under 20 hours a week, and finally, 17.9% work between 30 and 34 hours weekly.
