14-Year-Old Ayla Returns Home To Malta After Year-Long Bone Marrow Transplant Journey

Puttinu Cares has welcomed 14-year-old Ayla back to Malta after she spent a year away from home while undergoing a challenging journey for a bone marrow transplant.

In a statement shared on social media, the NGO celebrated Ayla’s return, describing her as a cheerful, determined and bubbly girl who inspired those around her throughout her time at the Puttinu apartments.

“Despite everything she has been through, she continued to face each day with courage and a beautiful smile….. and doing TikToks,” Puttinu Cares said.

Ayla is now looking forward to returning to school and being reunited with her friends, pending the results of upcoming medical tests.

The NGO urged the public to keep Ayla in their prayers and wished her continued strength and good health as she looks forward to returning to everyday life.

“Keep strong, Ayla! We are all behind you!” Puttinu Cares said.
