11-Year-Old Boy Loses His Life In Swimming Accident At Ramla l-Ħamra, Gozo

This afternoon, at around 1:15 PM (1315hrs), the Police were alerted that assistance was needed at Ramla l-Ħamra Bay, Xagħra, Gozo.
Police officers immediately responded to the scene and preliminary investigations revealed that a 37-year-old man and his 11-year-old son, both from the United Kingdom, encountered difficulties while swimming.
The first to be rescued from the sea was the child, who was immediately given medical attention and transported by ambulance to Gozo General Hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
Meanwhile, the search for the father is ongoing.
