108 PEOPLE DETAINED IN MALTA DURING COORDINATED IMMIGRATION OPERATIONS

Authorities have detained 108 individuals found to be living in Malta illegally following a series of inspections carried out over recent days.
The operations were led by the Immigration Police and Community Police, with checks conducted in several localities, including Marsa and Ħamrun.
Those detained were reported to include nationals from various countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Minister for Home Affairs and Security Glenn Bedingfield said that among those detained were individuals from Albania and the United Kingdom, highlighting the coordinated effort between the Police and immigration authorities.
He added that the operations form part of routine but targeted enforcement checks carried out across different localities around the country.
Officers from the Detention Services Agency also assisted police during the operations.
Authorities are continuing their investigations, with further action expected in the coming days.
