1000 Road Interventions Carried Out Across Malta In The Last 2 Years

The Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works has announced that over the past two years an extensive programme by Infrastructure Malta delivered around one thousand road interventions across the country, reinforcing national infrastructure and improving quality of life.
The works ranged from major rebuilds to resurfacing, alongside upgrades to underground services and the removal of bottlenecks in strategic areas, resulting in safer roads, smoother journeys and greater daily efficiency.
Close collaboration with local councils ensured residential streets were also addressed while major projects continued, including Msida Creek, Buġibba Square and regeneration in Wied il-Għajn.
Regular public communication improved cooperation and trust. Minister Chris Bonett said the milestone lays foundations for further investment in modern, sustainable infrastructure, crediting the collective efforts of professionals, contractors and technical teams delivering projects for communities.
This progress addressed long-standing challenges and supports more reliable, accessible travel for residents and businesses across Malta every day.
