The Ministry for Youth, Wellbeing and the Implementation of the Electoral Programme is supporting Music Summit Malta 2026 through a series of initiatives aimed at helping more young Maltese people build careers in the music industry.

Taking place on 8 and 9 October at the Hard Rock Hotel in St Julian's, Music Summit Malta is the first event of its kind in the Mediterranean dedicated to music technology and the wider music industry. The summit is bringing together more than 45 local and international speakers across four dedicated tracks, featuring artists, industry professionals, investors and other leading figures from the global music sector.

Among the speakers are John Acquaviva, Kenny Larkin, Andrea Rosen from Best Nights VC and Lexi Todd from Primary Wave Music.

As part of its support for the event, the Ministry is funding 100 free tickets for young people under the age of 30 who are already working in, or looking to establish, a career in the music industry. The initiative is designed to give aspiring professionals direct access to networking opportunities with representatives from international record labels, A&R professionals, investors and industry founders.

The summit also includes the Rising Talent showcase, where young Maltese DJs and producers are performing their music in front of international industry professionals. The showcase is intended to provide emerging artists with valuable exposure and the opportunity to turn their talent into future professional opportunities.

Minister Omar Farrugia said that investment in young people should always lead to meaningful opportunities.

"The first edition of Music Summit Malta will give young people the chance to discover their talents and grow their careers. As a Government, our role is to continue creating these opportunities and spaces for our young people to thrive," he said.

Summit founder Aidan Somers said the event aims to connect local talent with international professionals while strengthening Malta's growing music industry through new collaborations and global connections.
