1,600 On The Spot Fines In Two Months For Non-Residents In Malta

Minister for Home Affairs Glenn Bedingfield revealed that, in just two months, 1,600 fines were issued on the spot for non-residents in Malta.
The fines, issued by Malta Police Force officers and LESA Officers, were issued for various rule violations around the island, following an increase in the on-the-spot fines for such rule breaking.
This follows the doubling of on-the-spot fines from a minimum of €25 to a minimum of €50, following various calls for more enforcement around Malta, especially when it comes to tourism.
