South American champions Argentina have beaten European champions Italy with a score of 3-0, to win the first ever Finalissima title.
The game was played under the iconic Wembley stadium arch which also hosted the final of Euro 2020 where the Italian team triumphed over England.

This is not the first time that the champions of Europe and of South America have played a game for the iconic Artemio Franchi trophy. There were two other finals held in 1985 where France defeated Uruguay and in 1993 when Argentina overcame Denmark on penalties.
This time around the win was much easier for Argentina as they comfortably outplayed an out of sorts Italy side who haven’t looked the same since their magnificent summer almost a year ago now. La Albiceleste managed to score 3 goals against the Italians with the goals coming from Lautaro Martinez and Angel Di Maria in the first half and Paulo Dybala in the dying minutes of the game.
Argentina will now look to build on their impressive form ahead of the upcoming World Cup this winter in Qatar, whilst Italy will have to go through what seems like another rebuild after their disappointment in yet again not qualifying for the World Cup.
