Alex Borg Says PN Will Focus On “Politics Of The People” During Gozo Event

Partit Nazzjonalista (PN) Leader Alex Borg emphasised his commitment to what he described as the “politics of the people” during a public event held in Nadur, Gozo, as part of the Qrib Tagħkom series moderated by Noel Formosa.
Borg said that through direct engagement with citizens, by “knocking on doors, listening to families, the elderly, youth, and businesses”, the Nationalist Party aims to shape policies that respond to people’s everyday realities.
During the event, Borg fielded questions from Gozitans representing various sectors.
Addressing young people’s concerns about limited opportunities in Gozo, he called for greater investment in post-secondary and tertiary education to reduce the need for students to relocate to Malta.
He also said that wage disparities between Malta and Gozo should be addressed so that “Gozitans receive equal pay for equal work.”
Responding to questions on healthcare, Borg pledged that a PN government would provide state-of-the-art services in Gozo, reducing the need for patients to travel to Malta.
He mentioned plans to establish a Reconstitution Pharmacy for cancer treatment and to appoint dedicated spokespersons for Preventive Care and Neurodiversity within the PN’s Shadow Cabinet.
On agriculture and the environment, Borg said farmers and fishermen would receive stronger support under a PN government. He referred to a bill recently presented by the PN that seeks to make environmental protection a fundamental human right.
Borg concluded by saying that the PN’s renewed “energy and conviction” are attracting young people back to politics, and that the party will continue engaging directly with citizens to build “a bright future for Malta and Gozo.”
