Alex Borg has officially submitted his nomination to contest the leadership of the Nationalist Party, setting up a race against Adrian Delia to determine the party’s next leader.
Borg revealed that almost 3,000 signatures were collected in support of his candidacy, exceeding the number presented by Delia.
Borg said he could “sense and see the enthusiasm” within the Nationalist Party, describing the backing as a strong mandate for change.
Meanwhile, Delia confirmed that over 2,000 signatures were presented in his favour. He thanked supporters for their confidence and said he was eager to begin the next chapter of his political journey within the party.
The election is set to take place in September.
