Adrian Delia Calls Malta’s Growing Population A National Emergency

Local
Speaking with Malta Daily, contender for Nationalist Party leadership Adrian Delia called the ever growing population of the Maltese islands an emergency that needs a national level solution.
He expressed bewilderment at the government choosing an economic model of further growth.
He highlighted how in 10 years, Malta added 100,000 persons, and after that decade, starting in 2023, Malta started adding 20,000 people per annum.
This happened with no plans when it comes to infrastructure, traffic, health, drainage and many other vital aspects of Maltese society.
He said that this rate of demographic expansion is a burden that cannot be sustained.
