Here’s a little Maltese child stealing the show as he imitates band club musicians with a toy trumpet.

The boy’s father forms part of a band club as he plays at Maltese village feasts.

The boy was actually imitating his father, and people on the app were quick to encourage the mother to make the best out of this interest and enrol him into a band club as soon as he’s able.

This came not only in order to flourish the young boy’s already growing interest and talent but also safeguard and cultivate another part of Maltese culture, which feasts and band clubs form a massive part.

PN MP Alex Borg raises possible ‘life endangering’ concerns over IVF bill

Ahead of a crucial vote the Maltese Parliament is set to undertake, which will legalise the genetic testing of embryos, PN MP Alex Borg took to social media to explain his position.

In the Facebook post, Borg said that he is totally in favour of granting any prospective parents any means of having a child.

However, he raised his concerns over the possibility of endangering or experimenting with life. ‘We did not come into this world to undermine or even alter or experiment. Every human life is a miracle different from the other. From the start.’

He said that parents should be given all chances to have children, ‘as long as this does not in any way endanger any life, even at its start.’

Borg has since come out as the second PN MP who might vote against the bill after former leader Adrian Delia also warned against possible endangerment. Delia said he will vote according to his conscience.

Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech has since come out in favour of the IVF bill, despite being previously against it as he described it as ‘the selection of embryos.’ The government has also since accepted an amendment by the Opposition in the form of polar body testing on unfertilised oocytes.

This was already allowed in the bill’s protocol, but Health Minister Chris Fearne warned that it isn’t as effective as the genetic testing of full embryos.

Elderly woman falls off balcony at St Vincent De Paul home

An elderly woman has fallen a storey and a half off a balcony at the St Vincent de Paul care residence this morning.

Police revealed that the incident happened at around 7:30am. Her health condition is currently unknown and investigations are still ongoing.

This comes after several warnings by the Malta Union for Midwives and Nurses (MUMN) of several staff shortages at the care home. A police search for resident Karmenu Fino, 83-years, is currently also underway.

Carlos Sainz wins first ever race in dramatic fashion

Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz has won his first ever Formula One Grand Prix in front of thousands of British racing fans in Silverstone. The race was very chaotic and included a season high 6 DNF’s, some from brutal crashes such as the likes of Zhou and Albon and some from mechanical issues like Ocon and Bottas.

The race began in dramatic fashion with a collision between the Mercedes of George Russell and the Alfa Romeo of Zhou Guanyou resulting in a very scary crash for the Chinese driver. Luckily, the rookie came out of the incident safe and sound after being taken to the medical center. Williams driver Alex Albon also had to be taken to the medical center after a crash, he was then transferred to Coventry hospital.

Carlos Sainz claimed his first Formula 1 victory due to a safety car caused by the Alpine of Esteban Ocon in the last few laps. Due to his fresher and softer tires, the Spaniard easily overtook his teammate who had older and harder tires once the race restarted. The Red Bull of Sergio Perez managed to finish in P2 even after a slight collision he had in the beginning of the race which sent him down the pecking order. Silverstone favourite Lewis Hamilton rounded up the podium places in what was a solid and record breaking race for the Mercedes driver, as he is now the driver with the most amount of podiums in one track.

Ferrari driver Leclerc was forced to take P4, having led for large parts of the race, finishing ahead of the Alpine of Fernando Alonso and the McLaren of Lando Norris. Championship leader Max Verstappen could only muster up a P7 finish due to a damaged floor whilst Haas driver Mick Schumacher managed to score his first ever points in F1, finishing in P8.
