Activists Project Images Of Gaza Next To Maltese Parliament

Activists Project Images Of Gaza Next To Maltese Parliament
Local

Yesterday, activists gathered outside Parliament to raise awareness about the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

They held placards with information and projected images showing the horrific situation unfolding there onto the wall next to Parliament.

After 77 years of colonisation of Palestinian land by Israel and nearly two years of aggressive attacks in Gaza, more than 60,000 Palestinians have been killed, leaving the territory devastated. Now, Israel is imposing mass starvation on the Palestinian population.

Children, women and men are dying of hunger before our eyes. Remaining silent and inactive in the face of this suffering threatens our shared humanity.

The activists called on the Maltese Government to take urgent action by condemning Israel and supporting sanctions, including cancelling the EU-Israel Association Agreement.

They also urged Malta to prohibit ships flying its flag from carrying weapons or military supplies to Israel and to block such ships from Maltese waters.

Finally, they demanded Malta immediately recognise the State of Palestine.
