Yesterday evening, Moviment Graffitti activists staged a symbolic protest outside Parliament ahead of the Opposition Leader Bernard Grech’s response to the Labour government’s Budget 2025.
The activists presented the “Prime Puppet Award” to Prime Minister Robert Abela, criticising his relationship with developers in Malta.
The award was directed at the Prime Minister in recognition of his “loyal service to developers,” with the activists accusing him of prioritising their interests, the activists explained.
They claimed the Prime Minister has delayed crucial reforms, such as those related to development appeals, allowing developers to continue building even when legal objections are raised.
The activists also criticised the government for altering Local Plans to accommodate developers, citing the example of the Villa Rosa project.
The protest concluded with the activists claiming that the Prime Minister’s actions demonstrate an “absolute loyalty” to developers.
