The Access Bank UK Limited proudly announces the establishment of its first fully owned subsidiary in Malta, The Access Bank Malta Limited.

The subsidiary’s banking license application has been approved by both the European Central Bank (ECB) and the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), signalling a significant step in enhancing trade connectivity between Europe and Africa.

The approval of The Access Bank Malta Limited as a credit institution marks a transformative milestone in bolstering Europe-Africa trade flows.

Malta, a renowned international financial centre, and a gateway between the two continents, is strategically positioned to play a pivotal role in advancing commerce and fostering economic partnerships.

This strategic expansion into Malta enables The Access Bank UK Limited to leverage growing trade opportunities between Europe and Africa. It underscores the Access Group’s commitment to driving global trade, financial integration, and supporting businesses across these regions.

Yesterday evening, Għajnsielem inaugurated its unique Christmas tree during a charming ceremony that celebrated community spirit and creativity.

Constructed from 4,500 recycled bottles, the tree also features a walk-through experience leading to Santa’s house, making it a standout festive attraction.

The event began with speeches from Franco Ciangura, representing the volunteers behind the project, Għajnsielem Mayor Kevin Cauchi, and Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri.

Archpriest Frankie Bajada also offered a blessing for the tree. The ceremony was brought to life by Loredana and Albert Lauren Agius, who hosted the evening’s festivities.

Traditional Christmas music, seasonal drinks, and a vibrant fireworks display were all part of the inauguration.

The Għajnsielem Christmas tree is set to become a central feature of the village’s celebrations, offering visitors an unforgettable experience and enhancing the holiday spirit.

Jean Claude Micallef Appointed New CEO Of AiMS

Former Labour MP Jean Claude Micallef confirmed on Facebook that he will take on the role of CEO of The Authority for Maltese Sport (AiMS), and thus lead efforts for cleaner management of local sport. Jean Claude Micallef will be succeeding Luciano Busuttil, and announced that he will meet with the Authority’s staff tomorrow, followed by a press conference to officially announce his appointment.

Micallef welcomed the confirmation by the authority’s chairman, judge emeritus Antonio Mizzi, exclaiming his enthusiasm to work with him.

AiMS’ primary goal is to ensure fairness and safety in Maltese sport by safeguarding its integrity and core values. The regulatory board is organized into specialized departments, each trained to address various challenges that may arise.

As the Republic Day long-weekend approaches, weather forecasts are showing a cloudy week ahead for the Maltese islands.

Temperatures are only predicted to go as high as 19 degrees Celsius and are set to drop to 11 degrees Celsius. Thursday 12th is also expected to bring in rain showers, making it the 10th rainy in December.

However, the maximum weather temperature is forecasted to be higher than that of the previous weekend.
