A tree-planting event in Gujranwala has just secured a spot on the Guinness World Records registry after the Pakistani city managed to plant a whopping 52,040 plants in just 60 seconds.

12,500 students gathered to plant the thousands of tree saplings in an area between Rawalpindi and Chand Ka Qila bypass in Pakistan with 47 drone cameras recording the monumental event.

Aide to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam stated that the people have given a gift to Pakistani on its 74th Independence day, going on to highlight that 14th August should be remembered as Green Pakistan Day. He appealed to the public that everyone should plant at least on tree on this day as he praised the city’s residents for the environmentally conscious effort.
