A First Time Buyers Step-By-Step Guide Launched!

At the Public Service Expo 2025, Minister for Social and Affordable Accommodation, Roderick Galdes, announced the launch of a new guidance document by the Housing Authority aimed at first-time buyers.

The document provides clear, step-by-step advice to individuals purchasing their first property, supporting them through what the minister described as a “major life milestone”.

It includes detailed information on the first-time buyers’ scheme, which offers recipients €1,000 annually over ten years—a total of €10,000.

Minister Galdes noted that buying a first home is often accompanied by new experiences and challenges. “This guide will help prospective buyers navigate the entire process. We are proud to support first-time buyers, especially young people, through this initiative,” he said.

Matthew Zerafa, CEO of the Housing Authority, highlighted the importance of clarity in the home-buying process. “Owning a home is a dream for many young people, but it can be daunting. This guide aims to simplify the process and empower buyers to make well-informed decisions.”

The guide covers all stages, from securing a bank loan to signing the sales contract and moving in. It also offers practical tips and outlines government schemes and services available to assist new homeowners.
