820 Third-Country Nationals Returned from Malta in 2024

According to recent Eurostat data, 820 third-country nationals were returned from Malta in 2024, marking a decline from the 920 returned in 2023.

This places Malta among the EU countries with the lowest return rates, alongside Estonia, Luxembourg, Portugal, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Despite the slight drop in Malta’s figures, overall returns across the European Union increased. In total, 110,385 third-country nationals were returned from EU member states in 2024, up from 92,540 in 2023.

The data highlights ongoing efforts by EU countries to manage migration and enforce return orders, although Malta’s numbers remain relatively low compared to the rest of the bloc.

The statistics reflect broader trends in migration policy and enforcement across Europe.
