79 Year Old Woman Dies After Ħal Lija Car Crash

Today, at around 1030hrs, police were informed of a traffic accident which took place in Triq il-Mosta, Ħal Lija.

Police convened on site and preliminary investigations showed that a crash had taken place between. Renault Trafic van driven by a 24 year old man resident of Imtarfa and a Suzuki Swift driven by an 81 year old man resident of Mosta.

A 79 year old woman was riding passenger in the Suzuki.

A medical team and Civil Protection were called on site, and transported the persons to Mater Dei Hospital for necessary medical attention.

Unfortunately, the woman was deemed deceased a few moments later whereas the old man is currently at risk of dying.

The status of the other man is pending. An inquiry has been opened and investigations are ongoing.
