73 Year Old Man Dies After Difficulty Swimming In Qala, Gozo

Yesterday, at around 1830hrs, police were informed that their assistance was needed in the area of Ħondoq Bay, Qala, Gozo.
Police convened immediately on site and from preliminary investigations found that a 73 year old man resident of Qala found difficulty whilst swimming.
Some people in the vicinity gave first assistance and brought the man ashore.
The victim was immediately given medical aid and was then transported to Gozo General Hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced deceased moments later.
An inquiry has been opened as investigations are ongoing.
