63-Year-Old Man Dies in Park & Ride Accident in Floriana

Earlier today, a 63-year-old man from Naxxar tragically lost his life following an accident at the Park & Ride facility in Floriana.

The incident occurred at around 1:45 PM, when police were alerted that a person had been injured after being struck by a vehicle.

Officers immediately responded to the scene, where preliminary investigations revealed that a Mercedes Citaro bus, for unknown reasons, had moved on its own. As a result, the man was trapped between the bus and a wall.

A medical team from Mater Dei Hospital arrived promptly, and the man was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Unfortunately, he was later certified dead.

Magistrate Dr Joe Mifsud LL.D has been informed of the incident and has appointed a team of experts to assist in the inquiry.

Investigations by the police, along with the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
