61 Drug Traffickers Charged In Local Courts Last Year

Responding to a parliamentary question, Minister Jonathan Attard revealed that 61 persons have been arraigned in court due to drug trafficking.

Saying that statistics are kept when it comes to drug amounts of over 300 grams or more, 59 persons were arraigned in Maltese courts whereas 2 were arraigned in Gozo.

‘Cases involving persons charged in connection with drug trafficking involving less than 300 grams are heard by the Court of Magistrates as a Criminal Judicature’, said the Minister.
