5 Things We Learned From Love Island Season 1

Maltese Celebs We Would Love To See On Love Island Season 2
May 9 2024 Share

As we get ready for Love Island Malta Season 2, which starts on May 19th with Yazmin Helledie back as host, everyone’s excited to see the new islanders and what’s in store this season. Reflecting on the first season, here are five key lessons we learned:

Be Yourself

The islanders who were true to themselves tended to do better and were more liked by viewers and other contestants. Being genuine helped create real connections and definitely resonated with the Maltese public.

Expect Surprises

The show was full of surprises, with unexpected twists like sudden re-couplings,  love triangles and shock exits. It taught us to always be ready for the unexpected in life too.

Talk It Out

Good communication was crucial. Islanders who talked openly about their feelings managed their relationships better. Whether you’re friends, family, colleagues, lovers or anything else, this taught us the importance of talking things through in any relationship.

We

Embrace Differences

The show had contestants from various backgrounds of Maltese society, adding richness and variety. This diversity helped everyone learn more about different cultures, viewpoints and even languages.

Stay Strong Through Tough Times

The islanders faced many emotional challenges but showed resilience. This resilience is a great lesson for viewers, showing the importance of staying strong and growing through difficult times.

As Season 2 nears, it will be interesting to see if the new islanders have learned from the first season’s experiences. Whatever happens, it promises to be exciting.

Maltese Eurovision Legends Reimagined as Pixar Stars

May 9 2024 Share

As anticipation continues to build ahead of Malta’s performance in tonight’s Eurovision Semi-Final 2, AI creators have crafted Pixar-style animations of the country’s iconic performers.

The projects feature beloved artists like Mary Spiteri, Paul Giordimaina & Georgina Abela, Debbie Scerri, and contemporary group The Busker. The latest addition is this year’s entrant, Sarah Bonnici, whose song “Loop” is gaining traction.

These animated versions of the performers were designed to capture the essence of each artist while reimagining them in the charming and universally appealing style characteristic of Pixar films like ‘Up’, ‘Coco’, ‘Toy Story’, ‘Encanto’ and many more. The visuals were created by Daniel Falzon Malli and the team at Eurofan.ai.

The project is timely, launching just as Sarah Bonnici prepares to take the stage for Semi-Final 2 of the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden. Bonnici is set to open the night, with hopes of securing Malta a spot in Saturday’s final.

If you want to join in on the Eurovision fun this evening and on Saturday, make sure to visit the TVM Eurovision Fanzone in collaboration with Malta Daily at Valletta’s Triton Fountain Square. The Free Fanzone will include live streaming of both shows ono the big screen, also including performances from Klinsmann, Federica and Rita Pace.

Men in Mankinis Parade Across Kappara Junction

Men in Mankinis Parade Across Kappara Junction
May 9 2024 Share

Drivers passing through the Kappara Junction saw a rather unusual sight earlier today, when a group of men dressed in mankinis and top hats were seen jogging across the area.

According to an eyewitness, the group, likely part of a bachelor party, exited a coach and immediately began their peculiar parade.

Bachelor parties are frequently celebrated in Malta, often with unique and memorable antics, but this event was notably bizarre. The choice of mankinis, paired with formal top hats, created a striking contrast that amused and bewildered many witnesses.

As the men made their way through the streets, their unusual attire and festive demeanour were a sight that drew both smiles but also anger and confusion from members of the local community.

Have you ever seen a sight like this?
