Only A Magisterial Inquiry Can Bring Justice Says Prime Minister

Only A Magisterial Inquiry Can Bring Justice Says Prime Minister
Jul 13 2023 Share

Sitting down for an interview with MaltaToday, Prime Minister Robert Abela said that only a magisterial inquiry can bring justice in the tragic case of Jean Paul Sofia’s death.

Speaking with MaltaToday’s Kurt Sansone, Abela vowed to publish the magisterial inquiry in full once it is concluded so that ‘justice can be done.’

He said that investigations into the concession of public land to the developers of the site where Sofia died should take place after the magisterial inquiry.

The Labour Party leader said that he has no business links whatsoever with the developers of the site, but even if he did, this would not have changed anything.

He also admitted that it was insensitive to have attended an orchestra concert at Girgenti Palace just hours after voting down the public inquiry into the death.

This comes after Robert Abela revealed that he sent a letter to Chief Justice urging for the magisterial inquiry to be concluded as soon as possible.
