35-Year Old Italian Man Dies While Swimming At Comino’s Blue Lagoon

A 35-year-old Italian man has died while swimming at Comino’s Blue Lagoon on Wednesday afternoon.
Police said they were alerted to the incident at around 1:30pm. Preliminary investigations indicate that the man experienced difficulties while swimming.
Emergency Response and Rescue Corps (ERRC) personnel administered first aid at the scene before transporting him by boat to Mġarr Port. He was then taken to the Gozo General Hospital, where he was certified dead shortly after arrival.
Duty Magistrate Brigitte Sultana has opened an inquiry into the case, while police investigations remain ongoing.
